The waste processing plant of the biogas pioneers “Bios 1” in Lower Austria has expanded its capacity!
With the construction of the second waste processing plant, Bios1 is now capable of handling a wide range of different waste streams, including hazardous waste, for energy production.
The biogas produced at the plant is converted into electrical and thermal energy and used on-site. The excess energy is fed into the power grid. Additionally, a biogas upgrading plant for the production of biomethane (RNG) and injection into the natural gas grid has already been planned to ensure readiness for the diverse and volatile energy market in the future.
The digestate from the process is used as certified organic fertilizer on agricultural fields after further treatment.
“Renewable Energy” is not just a term for the biogas pioneers; it has been a lived vision for several decades now…
Agrinz Technologies GmbH is proud to have been significantly involved in the planning and implementation of the new project. Our role in this project was to provide general technical support to the experienced and innovative plant operators, from obtaining permits, through plant realization as general contractor, to official inspection and approvals.
